Students should bet on UGA this weekend
By Brooks Dorn, University of Georgia alumnus
As a lifelong Georgia Tech fan, former Georgia Tech student and University of Georgia graduate, I urge you to go to any legal sportsbook and bet on Georgia to beat UF and win the BCS National Championship.
Why? Because Georgia is the best team in college football.
They can only beat themselves by committing too many penalties or turnovers. They have it all: a great quarterback, great tailbacks and fullbacks, great wide receivers and tight ends, an adequate and improving offensive line, a great defense, a great coaching staff, a great band and mascot, and great fan spirit and support.

They are a smart, fast, strong, powerful, talented, deep, versatile and balanced football team.
If you are a Georgia resident or fan, it’s time to “put some skin in the game” and bet on Georgia to beat UF and go all the way.
If you do so, you will have fun and make some money, which, in turn, will help your local economy.

" Why would the Alligator even publish this? I'm sure there were plenty more relevant letters to the editor that could have run instead of this one. This is the Independent FLORIDA Alligator, not the Independent GEORGIA English Bulldog. Typical... "

" Gee Ms. Dorn... 49 to 10. That is an official a** kicking if you ask me. In fact, not only were you wrong. Had I actually bet for Florida and gave you 30 points you would have still lost. That is like a 15 to 1 bet in Vegas. Well, maybe not. Likely they see the true greatness of the Gators football team more than a simple Georgia fan could. "
