Here's a glimpse of the week's happenings at your local law enforcement agencies.

At the Alachua County Sheriff's Office, deputies carried out a search for an escaped Gilchrist County inmate. The man, George Housekeeper, pushed his way through security structures by the recreation yard at the Gilchrist County Jail Tuesday afternoon.

With help from a local resident, deputies found him Wednesday in Newberry.

The University Police Department joined with other agencies, such as Gainesville Fire Rescue, to participate in the 2011 Pink Heals Tour stop in Gainesville Wednesday.

The event, called the North Florida Pink Heals Initiative's Celebration of Women, raised awareness for women's cancer. It included entertainment for families, according to a UPD press release.

The tour's distinctive pink fire truck made an appearance on the Ben Hill Griffin Stadium North Lawn.
