Senior guard Kenny Boynton walks back to play defense after scoring during Florida’s 69-52 victory against Kentucky on Feb. 12 in the O’Connell Center.

Former Gators guard Kenny Boynton has found a new home.

On Friday, Boynton signed with Barak Netanya, a professional basketball team in Israel. Netanya is a member of the Israeli Basketball Super League, the top-tier basketball association in the country.

Sportando.net first reported Boynton’s signing.

Boynton went unselected in the 2013 NBA Draft. He then received an invite in July to the Los Angeles Lakers’ summer league training camp but did not make the 15-man roster cut.

Boynton now joins former Gators forward Alex Tyus, who he played with for two seasons at UF, in Israel. On July 1, Tyus signed a three-year, $1.1 million deal with Maccabi Tel Aviv, an Israeli Basketball Super League squad.

At Florida, Boynton finished his collegiate career with the second-most points in school history and helped lead the Gators to three consecutive Elite Eight appearances. Last season, he averaged 12 points per game on 39.4 percent shooting.

Boynton received his degree in sociology during summer commencement on Saturday.
