Pedro Bravo case management hearing delayed again

The trial of Pedro Bravo for the murder of UF student Christian Aguilar has been pushed back again.

Despite the efforts of State Attorney Brian Kramer to move things along Tuesday in the Alachua County Courthouse, the court will reconvene Aug. 27 for another hearing.

Bravo’s lawyer, Michael Ruppert, told Judge Peter Sieg that he needs to take the depositions of 110 witnesses -- a process he has not started.

Aguilar’s family sat in the courtroom wearing white shirts bearing their slain son’s picture and the words “Justice for Chris.”

It has been about 10 months since their son first went missing in Gainesville in September.

According to county court records, Bravo is charged with kidnapping, homicide,  lying to police, providing false reports, mishandling human remains, tampering with physical evidence, and poisoning food and/or water with the intent to kill or injure a person.
