Update: Green Bay Packers DT Letroy Guion charged with cyberstalking and battery; charges later dropped

Update: The following story appeared online on July 2. Documents obtained by the Alligator embedded at the bottom of this report reveal that Letroy Guion was charged with cyberstalking, a first-degree misdemeanor. The charges were later dropped against Guion. The original story with the update is below.

Letroy Guion, defensive tackle for the Green Bay Packers, reached a plea deal in March after police found 357 grams of marijuana and a firearm that Guion had previously reported as stolen during a traffic stop in February in Starke, Florida.

The court dropped the charges after Guion struck a plea deal that involved the 28-year-old agreeing to pay $5,000 plus court costs.

Guion was able to reach a plea agreement because the court ruled he was a first-time offender.

But documents obtained by the Alligator reveal that Guion has an open civil case with counts of assault, battery and assault by cyberstalking filed by the alleged boyfriend of a woman who Guion had a previous relationship with.

According to documents, on Feb. 16, 2013, Guion was involved in a verbal altercation with Krystal Troutman, who is reportedly the mother of his child.

Guion had allegedly made repeated verbal threats to Troutman, including traveling to the Pine Forrest Apartment Complex in Bradford County to confront Troutman and her alleged boyfriend, the plaintiff Martius Holland.

According to the report, Guion pushed Troutman and struck Holland in the head in the parking lot of Pine Forrest Apartment Complex. Holland alleges that the actions of Guion caused the plaintiff to sustain physical pain, suffering, and mental and emotional anguish.

The documents allege that Guion became engaged in a verbal conflict with Troutman on Dec. 4, 2013, and that Guion continued to send numerous threats of physical violence to Holland.

Guion was charged on Dec. 4, 2013 with cyberstalking, a first-degree misdemeanor, after Troutman reported receiving threatening text messages sent to her by Guion. The charges against Guion were dropped on Dec. 17, 2013.

Holland is seeking damages for assault, battery and assault by cyberstalking.

In relation to the traffic stop in February, documents obtained by the Alligator reveal that Guion has been ordered to forfeit his vehicle, a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500 truck along with $190,028.81 seized during his arrest.

It is unclear at press time if the NFL is aware of the allegations against Guion.

For the charges pertaining to the traffic stop in February, Guion’s agent Seth Katz told Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com that his client has not heard from the league about a possible penalty under the league’s personal conduct policy. Demovsky adds that the Packers and Guion have been “bracing” for a one-to-four game suspension.

Guion re-signed with the Packers for one-year and $2.75 million this offseason. Guion had 62 tackles and 3.5 sacks as a starter for the Packers last season.
