Gainesville Police arrested a local man Wednesday for having about 30 pounds of marijuana at his home.

At about 1 p.m., the Gainesville-Alachua County Drug Task Force served a narcotics search warrant for Cody Patrick Andress, 29, according to a police report. Andress was found in the driveway at his home, located in the 3700 block of Northwest 17th St.

After members of the task force searched the home, which he invited them to do, they found 33.5 pounds of weed in various rooms, according to the report.

Police also found a money-counter, a large scale and other items relating to the sale of weed, according to the report.

He told officers the weed was his and that he sells it, according to the report.

Andress has been on felony probation since August 2015 for home invasion robbery with a deadly weapon, according to the report. As part of his probation, which ends August 2022, he’s not allowed to have alcohol or illegal drugs.

Police arrested him on a charge of violating probation and took him to the Alachua County Jail, where he is currently being held, as of press time, without bond.
