Gainesville Police arrested a woman after officers said she attacked a man with a set of keys because there was no beer in the refrigerator Saturday night.

Linda Lee Solis-Rivera and Edward Harty began arguing before Solis-Rivera started swinging at Harty shortly after 8 p.m. Harty said he grabbed Solis-Rivera’s hands while trying to defend himself but lost his balance.

The two then fell to the ground, according to a report.

Police said 55-year-old Solis-Rivera then started stabbing Harty on the head with a pair of keys at his home, located at 3015 SW 41st Lane.

Harty had five or six puncture wounds on his head, which were bleeding when officers arrived. He also had cuts and numerous black and blue lumps on his head. Emergency Medical Services responded, but Harty did not need to be hospitalized.

Solis-Rivera told police she and Harty were drinking beer and grilling food before the fight, which Harty said started because there was no more beer in the fridge.

Solis-Rivera was arrested on charges of aggravated battery. She is currently being held on a $25,000 bond.
