What's closed or canceled due to Hurricane Matthew

Schools

Alachua County Schools: Will be open Thursday but closed Friday

Santa Fe College: Classes will end at 5 p.m. Thursday and the college will stop operations at 6 p.m. The college will remain closed through Sunday and reopen Monday.

University of Florida: Classes are cancelled and Gainesville offices are closed Friday. Campus dining halls will close at midnight Friday.

P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School: Will be closed Friday

Oak Hall School: closed Friday

St Leo's Gainesville education center will closed at 2 p.m. and will remain closed Friday.

UF Online will be closed on Friday. Students should check with instructors about assignments due over the weekend.

Medical

UF Health Shands Hospital and North Florida Regional Medical Center will remain open

Beginning, Friday, the UF Veterinary Hospitals will be open for emergencies only. If your pet has an emergency, call 352-392-2235. For large animal emergencies, call 352-392-2229.

University of Florida Physicians primary care and specialty care practices will be closed on Friday. For up-to-date, specific information on practice closings, patients can call 352-265-0008, and practice staff and physicians can call 352-265-0900.

Archer Family Health Care (located in Archer) will be closed on Friday. For questions, please call 352-495-2550.

All clinics at the UF College of Dentistry in Gainesville will be closed on Friday.

The UF College of Dentistry in Hialeah is closed Thursday and Friday. Patients with scheduled appointments will be contacted to reschedule their appointments. Patients with dental emergencies should visit their local emergency room or urgent care center.

The UF Psychology Clinic will be closed Friday. Patients may contact the clinic regarding rescheduling of their appointment by calling 352-265-0294 and choosing option 5.

The weekly Physical Therapy Equal Access Clinic will be closed Thursday and will resume its regular hours Oct. 13.

The UF Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences will close outpatient clinical operations for Friday. This includes speech, language and hearing services at the UF Health Hearing Center – Hampton Oaks and UF Health – Davis Cancer Pavilion.

UF Health outpatient clinics throughout Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will be closed Friday. This includes outpatient clinics and rehabilitation services at UF Health Jacksonville, UF Health Emerson Medical Plaza and UF Health North. Staff is in the process of notifying patients and rescheduling appointments.

Entertainment

UF/LSU Football Game:  It will be at noon as scheduled, though this is subject to change.

T-shirt Giveaway: UF’s Alumni Association will be giving out Beat LSU T-shirts today at 10am instead of Friday.

Groundbreaking Ceremony: Groundbreaking for new Herbert Wertheim Laboratory for Engineering Excellence on Thursday has been cancelled.

Gainesville Parks will be closed Friday

Alachua County Libraries will close Thursday at 5 p.m. through Friday and will reopen if weather permits on Saturday

AMK x CASA x Kappo Rice event Thursday night cancelled

Bob Graham Center cancelled talk for Friday night

SeaWorld is closed Friday

UF’s Marston Library and Library West will close at 10 p.m. Thursday and remain closed Friday

Free Fridays and the Friday night DJ at Depot Park have both been cancelled

Religion

UF Hillel: Services and Food Truck Friday cancelled

Transportation

RTS: The Regional Transit System will stop operating when winds reach greater than 35 mph. UF’s campus routes will not run on Friday, and it will run on reduced service. Operations will start up again on Saturday when it is safe

SNAP: UF’s Student Nighttime Auxiliary Patrol will stop running Friday at midnight and reopen Saturday if safe to do so

Government

City Offices: closed on Friday

County Offices: closed on Friday

Courts: All Alachua county courts will be closed on Friday
