Sandra’s Lunchbox delivers healthy, homemade lunches

A new business is serving up healthy lunches that can be delivered straight to your door.

Sandra Meza, 34, started her lunch delivery service, called Sandra’s Lunchbox, last week, she said. It provides healthy, homemade meals that range from $6 to $10.

Meza said the overall goal of the service is to provide healthy eating solutions for people on the job.

Javier Espinoza, spokesman for Sandra’s Lunchbox, said since it started, it has fulfilled close to 20 orders. The plan was to start out slowly, but the service became popular mostly due to its Facebook page, he said.

The service provides homemade meals with fresh ingredients from local wholesale grocery stores such as Lucky’s Market and Trader Joe’s, Espinoza said. The foods are primarily Latin-based, including lentil soup with Spanish chorizo and shrimp salad. There are also vegetarian options.

Each Friday afternoon, a new menu is released, Espinoza said. There are about seven items for each day of the week.

As of now, only cash is accepted, but the business is in the process of creating a website where orders and payments can be processed online.

The ordering process involves texting in an order or calling, Espinoza said.

Sandra’s Lunchbox was modeled after similar delivery systems in Latin America.

“We have something new and something fresh,” said Espinoza. “The main idea is to be healthy and she (Sandra) created the service for that reason.”

To place an order, call or text 352-318-3706.
