Gainesville Police arrested a local man Tuesday who has been wanted on charges of robbing a local ice cream restaurant in late October.

Officers arrested 23-year-old John Gabe Gaddy on charges of armed robbery, kidnapping and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, among other charges, according to Alachua County Jail records.

U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force officers found Gaddy in an apartment at 1053 SE 10th Place, said GPD spokesman Officer Ben Tobias.

On Oct. 27, Gaddy entered the Eastside Sweet Dreams Homemade Ice Cream of Gainesville, 1040 E. University Ave., according to Alligator archives. He forced the female clerk into the bathroom at gunpoint and then took money from the register.
