Florida fans got their first official update today on the nine UF football players who have been suspended indefinitely since August.

Sworn complaint affidavits were filed by University Police on Monday, and all nine players, including receiver Antonio Callaway and running back Jordan Scarlett, are potentially facing multiple third-degree felony charges.

Callaway and Scarlett are facing two charges: one for fraud/obtaining property for under $20,000 and another for possession and use of another person’s credit card without consent, according to Alachua County public records.

No player has officially been charged. UPD issued sworn complaints that recommend the charges, and the state attorney's office has the option to pursue those recommendations.

Gators Coach Jim McElwain was asked Monday whether the potential charges would constitute Callaway's last strike.

"You're asking me something I don't even know anything about," McElwain said. "I don't know if that's fair."

The other eight players that could be facing third-degree charges, according to Alachua County public records, include Scarlett, receiver Rick Wells, offensive lineman Kadeem Telfort, defensive linemen Keivonnis Davis, Richerd Desir-Jones and Jordan Smith, as well as linebackers James Houston and Ventrell Miller.

McElwain said he hadn't heard about the potential charges when asked during his Monday news conference.

"Know this: I really care about those guys. We're going to do right by them," McElwain said. "You're asking me something, which this is the first I've heard about it. Obviously, we sit down as a staff, we sit down as an administration ...  at the end of the day, I'll do everything I can to help these guys."

As of now, all nine players are still listed on the Gators official roster.

This is a breaking news story that will continue to be updated.
