Harrison Bader (8) celebrates with teammates following his second home run during Florida's 22-3 win against Rhode Island on Feb. 14 at McKethan Stadium.

The No. 4 Florida baseball team used 11 hits from eight different batters to defeat No. 13 UCF 10-2 on Wednesday at McKethan Stadium to split the series between the two teams.

“I thought that our guys were outstanding tonight,” coach Kevin O’Sullivan said. “There was good energy in the dugout, we swung the bats really well, we pitched better than we did last night and it was a fun night.”

The Gators (11-2) held a 3-0 lead after the first two innings before junior Harrison Bader launched his NCAA-leading sixth home run into the left-field bleachers in the third.

Florida tacked on three more runs in each of the fourth and sixth innings, while UCF (11-2) scored on two solo home runs.

Sophomore Kirby Snead earned the win after tossing 2.1 scoreless innings of relief for starter Brett Morales.

The Gators now turn their attention to a three-game weekend series against Maine, which begins Friday at 7 p.m. at McKethan Stadium.

Women’s basketball bounced from SEC Tournament: The Florida women’s basketball team fell to Auburn 71-49 in the first round of the Southeastern Conference Tournament on Wednesday in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The Tigers, riding a three-game win streak to close out the regular season, jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the first 2:17 and never looked back, leading 32-18 at halftime and leading by as much as 24 points in the second half.

Sophomore Ronni Williams posted her second double-double of the season in the loss, leading UF with 16 points and 12 rebounds off the bench.

“I think (Auburn’s) arguably the hottest team in the league right now,” UF coach Amanda Butler said. “They did just a fantastic job from the jump of executing their game plan,” UF coach Amanda Butler said. “We were reacting to that the entire game. We've got a lot of areas we have to look at and change and grow from, learn from.”

Florida finished the season 13-17, the program’s worst record during Butler’s eight years as head coach.

Track and field qualifies athletes for NCAA Championships: The UF track and field teams qualified a total 23 athletes (11 men, 12 women) for the 2015 NCAA Indoor Championships in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
