UF coach Kevin O'Sullivan runs out of the dugout during team introductions prior to Florida's 4-2 season-opening win on Feb. 19, 2016, at McKethan Stadium.

Kevin O’Sullivan isn’t leaving Florida any time soon.

The baseball coach signed a 10-year deal worth $1.25 million annually with a $500,000 signing bonus on Wednesday, according to multiple reports. D1baseball.com first reported the news.

The university’s athletic department has been criticized in the past for not devoting enough money and attention to its baseball team, which consistently ranks as one of the best in the country.

Lately, that trend has started to turn.

O’Sullivan’s extension comes just a few weeks after Florida revealed a $100 million plan to improve its athletic facilities, including renovations to McKethan Stadium. UF’s baseball stadium will receive shade structuring over parts of the stands, additional seating behind home plate, new club seating, a revamped press box and improved player facilities.

The Gators have reached the College World Series five of the last seven years and ended last season as the 6th ranked team in the country.

Under O’Sullivan, Florida has won three SEC Championships and two SEC Tournaments, and the coach was named the SEC Coach of the Year in 2010 and 2014.
