Taylore Fuller bats during Florida's 8-0 win against Indiana on Feb. 22, 2014 at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

It was only a matter of time before Taylore Fuller broke out of her slump.

Fuller, who had been 1-for-10 in her last 10 at-bats, busted out of her skid and ripped a two-run double down the left-field line in the first inning against South Florida.

The junior led the way with two hits and four RBIs as No. 2 Florida (41-4) took down USF (32-13) 7-0 Wednesday night at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium.

"I’ve felt good. It just hasn’t happened for me," Fuller said. "I feel like I’ve been hitting the ball solid. It just hasn’t fallen in, and finally I got a little luck on my side today."

The Gators wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, putting up three runs in the bottom of the first.

Kelsey Stewart led off with a single to left field, which was followed by two strikeouts and two walks to Lauren Haeger and Kayli Kvistad to load the bases.

Then Fuller hit the two-run double before Justine McLean chopped an infield single to third base to score the third run.

McLean went 3-for-3 with one RBI. The sophomore’s average now sits at .388.

USF’s defense looked sloppy in the third inning, allowing two runs to score on two errors to give Florida a 5-0 lead.

Pinch running for Haeger, Aleshia Ocasio scored from third on a throw from the Bulls’ catcher that sailed over the third baseman.

McLean followed with a single, and Fuller scored Florida’s fifth run after USF’s shortstop overthrew the first baseman.

The Bulls committed four total errors throughout the game.

"A couple of them were us forcing the issue a little bit," coach Tim Walton said. "They had to speed up what they wanted to do, and I think that kind of led to the mistakes."

The Gators tacked on two more runs in the fourth inning on a bases-loaded single to left from Fuller.

Stewart extended her hitting streak to 12 games with her leadoff single in the first. The Wichita, Kansas, native finished 2-for-4 and is hitting .533 during her hit streak.

"She’s been really good of late, and when she gets on base we score," Walton said.

Ocasio earned her 14th win in the circle, tossing four shutout innings while striking out five.

Delanie Gourley earned her second save of the season, allowing no runs in the last three innings of the game. The sophomore struck out six and didn’t surrender a hit in her relief appearance.

"Even if it was just a few innings, it was good just to go out there and just be myself again," Gourley said.

The Gators will hit the road and travel to Athens, Georgia, to take on the Bulldogs Friday at 6 p.m. to begin a three-game series. Georgia is 35-11 this season and 11-7 in Southeastern Conference play.
