Are you part of the ENO craze?
If you are passive participant, you look at the people “ENOing” (stacking multiple hammocks on top of each other) on the Plaza of the Americas and you might think to yourself, “Those people are so cool.” If you are active, you chill-ax on your blessed ENO and take a look around to think, "This is the life."
Now, for those of you who do not know what I am going on about, ENO is a brand of hammocks. You can hang these babies on just about anything -- a tree, a Jeep, a column, you name it. For more information, stalk the frequent ENOers who hang about (pun intended) on the Plaza of the Americas any given day.
You may be wondering why I am even bothering writing about hammocks. But you see, I believe we can all learn a ton from said hammocks.
ENO represents a way of life. It represents relaxation, contentment and appreciation for your surroundings. It allows you to take the most wonderful, epic nap of all time on a beautiful fall day basically anywhere on the campus we call home.
This hammock gives a sense of belonging. Whenever I sit in my ENO, I am encouraged to slow down and breathe. When was the last time you slowed down during the semester to just take a breath? College is stressful; life is stressful; everything is stressful if you make it out to be so. So don’t. Just lean back and enjoy your wonderful life.
Enjoy every breath you take. Make friends with people who own ENOs, and go learn to relax. Smile every once in a while for no reason. Stop living exam to exam and think of the days you have between those exams to live. Do not let your college experience pass you by! It can be and will be whatever you make of it!
