Florida women’s track and field team fueled off the men’s Wednesday qualifications during the second day of the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Thursday saw five more Gators secure entries to compete in Saturday's finals in Eugene, Oregon.
Grace Stark glided to the third qualifying spot in the women’s 100-meter hurdles semifinal. The redshirt freshman tied UF’s record in the 100-meter hurdle after she sprinted a personal-best 12.73 second time.
The dynamic duo of Talitha Diggs and Taylor Manson advanced to Saturday’s 400 final. Diggs finished sixth with a 51.45, and Manson rose to the No. 3 spot with a personal-best 51.04 time, 0.47 seconds faster than her 51.51 seed time.
Gabrielle Wilkinson found herself in fifth in the women’s 800 semifinals. The redshirt sophomore paced out a 2:03.50, about two seconds slower than her 2:01.45 seed time.
The nation’s fourth-ranked women’s 4x400 relay team advanced to the finals. Manson, Sterling Lester, Doneisha Anderson and Diggs lapped a 3:27.47 time to come in second.
