With the NBA Summer League a little over a week into its season, it’s a good time to see what former Florida men’s basketball players have done so far.

Former guard Tre Mann and forward Scottie Lewis finally saw the opportunity to dip their feet into the NBA waters after they were both selected in the 2021 NBA Draft. The Oklahoma City Thunder selected Mann with their second first-round pick at No. 18 overall. Lewis was picked up by the Charlotte Hornets with the No. 56 overall pick in the second round.

Mann recorded nine points, three assists and three rebounds per game through two contests with an average of 28 minutes per game. He struggled in his first game with Oklahoma City when he managed only six points, three rebounds, zero assists, a block and a steal in a 76-72 win over the Pistons. Mann also made three of 14 field goal attempts and missed all four of his 3-point tries.

He failed to tally a 3-pointer in his second game, an 80-65 loss to New Orleans, but he posted 12 points, seven assists and six rebounds.

The Thunder play again Friday at 7 p.m. versus the Golden State Warriors, but the team announced that Mann will miss the rest of the NBA Summer League due to a personal matter.

Lewis struggled to find a groove with his new team through three games. He made his debut in a 93-86 loss versus the Portland Trailblazers where he notched two points, an assist and a steal on one-of-four shooting from the field in 19 minutes of action.

Lewis then didn’t play in an 80-70 loss against the Sacramento Kings due to a coach’s decision. He was limited to 21 minutes because of foul trouble against the Spurs, but he fared better than his debut by scoring six points, four assists, three rebounds and a block.

He’ll be back in action Friday night when the Hornets play the Toronto Raptors at 7 p.m. and can be seen on NBA TV.

Four former Gators, Devin Robinson, John Egbunu, Kerry Blackshear Jr. and Michael Frazier II, found their way onto a roster for the NBA Summer League as well. Robinson and Frazier II play for the Phoenix Suns and Indiana Pacers while Egbunu and Blackshear Jr. suit up for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

All four spent the majority of their previous professional basketball career in the NBA G League. Robinson and Frazier II made their NBA debuts with the Washington Wizards and Houston Rockets, respectively.

Frazier II saw the most playing time this summer out of the four former Florida players. He made the most of it when he scored 10 points and a rebound in a 90-84 win against the Nuggets.

The NBA Summer League continues this weekend, with the Championship Game held on Aug. 17 between the top teams with the best record. The other 28 teams will play a fifth game on Aug. 16 or 17.
