Based on the book of the same name, this film is a commentary on the civil rights movement of the 1960s. Dan Freeman (Lawrence Cook) becomes the first black man accepted into the CIA, to be used specifically as a token minority member. Unbeknownst to them, he is secretly involved in the “Freedom Fighters” movement, and uses his newfound skills to attempt to liberate Chicago.
