Start your tango journey with the UF Argentine Tango Club. You’ll be challenged to think and move using tango ideas with an engaging and diverse group. You will do individual exercises and partner activities to explore what tango is all about!
Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays during the Fall semester, with some exceptions so be sure to check each week's event on Facebook.
Where: Most classes will be held in Dance Studio B, located in the basement of the Reitz Union. A few will be held in Studio A next door to B. So be sure to just check the schedule information at the door if you are unsure.
What to wear: If you own a pair of salsa shoes or jazz/ballet flats, those work great. If not, bring a thick pair of socks to dance in. Fancy shoes are not necessary and please avoid flip flops or tennis shoes.
Feel free to invite your friends on Facebook!
*Parking at the Reitz Union garage is free & open after 4:40pm.
Our Promise To Our Tango Students:
-Everyone is welcome to dance any role they like. We welcome and encourage men as followers, women as leaders, non-binary dancers, and any combination in between. Tango is for everyone. We promise to maintain an atmosphere of inclusion, diversity, and understanding.
-Our classes will be fun and safe. We teach and enforce general tango etiquette. We reserve the right to eject students from the classes and practices if they are causing harm to anyone. This is for the safety and enjoyment of everyone. We also encourage everyone to speak up for their own comfort and safety.
- Starting Friday, September 20th, 2019, repeated every week on Friday until Wednesday, December 11, 2019 @ 6:15 pm – 8:15 pm
