Isabella Arias is willing to make the drive from Gainesville to Orlando if it means saving money on Nike leggings and sports bras.

Come springtime, the UF accounting sophomore can buy discounted shoes and leggings just 20 minutes from campus.

A Nike factory store will open in Gainesville, offering discounted athletic wear at Celebration Pointe, located on the intersection of Interstate 75 and Archer Road. The shopping mall announced the store as its most recent anchor tenant in a press release Monday.

Construction on the store is already underway, and it is expected to open spring 2018, said Celebration Pointe spokesperson Phillip Bergman.

The Nike factory store will join the likes of Bass Pro Shops, which opened in November 2016, and Regal Cinemas theater, opening later this year, as part of Celebration Pointe’s 160-acre location.

The “mixed-use development” site will house offices, a park, shops, restaurants, town houses and live entertainment spaces, according to Celebration Pointe’s website. None of the other stores have official release dates.

Arias runs a fitness Instagram account and is excited for a discount Nike store to open. As a fitness blogger and college student, she wants to get her money’s worth when shopping for workout clothes.

“It’s super convenient to have something that’s nearby where you can try on in-person,” the 20-year-old said. “You can look for things that are cheaper online, but at that point, you’re risking it not fitting right.”
