Two 18-year-olds were arrested Thursday afternoon for holding a college student hostage and robbing him at gunpoint last week, police said.

Jesse Dalton Fleming, of Morriston, Florida, and Derion’te Tre-Sean Robinson, of Gainesville, were accused of forcing the student to take out money from ATMs and stealing his phone and debit cards on Oct. 8, according to a Gainesville Police arrest report. The student was not listed in the UF directory.

Fleming was caught on camera, but Robinson was caught because of his hair. The student told officers one of the teenagers looked like rapper Kodak Black, the report said.

The student was in his car at his apartment on Southwest 62nd Boulevard when the teenagers walked up and pointed their guns at him about 2 a.m., police said.

Robinson drove the student’s car to several ATMs while Fleming sat next to the student to keep him from escaping, police said.

They forced the student to withdraw cash and hand it over to them. Fleming threatened to shoot him if he said anything to people nearby, the report said.

Robinson and Fleming took turns hitting the student with their guns and tied him up while holding him captive for a few hours, police said.

The student told police Robinson’s hair reminded him of Kodak Black. An officer who met Robinson during another case placed him in a lineup, and the student immediately recognized him, police said.

Police arrested the pair Thursday afternoon, the report said.

Robinson ran away when an officer tried to take him to jail, but police caught up to him, police said.

Fleming and Robinson were charged with armed robbery and kidnapping. Robinson was also charged for trying to escape and for an unrelated home invasion, according to court records.

Fleming and Robinson are being held in the Alachua County Jail in lieu of a $75,000 and an over $1.5 million bond, respectively.
