Two suspected robbers wanted more than fried chicken and biscuits when they broke into a Bojangles with a gun Wednesday.

At about 11:04 p.m., Gainesville Police were sent to Bojangles, at 3120 SW Archer Rd., to investigate a report of an armed robbery, according to a police press release.

While employees were closing the store, two suspects, wearing masks and gloves, forced their way in, the release said. One of them had an assault style rifle and went up to the employees demanding money.

The suspects took the cash and left the restaurant and area, the release said. Police did not find them during a search.

At about 11:22 p.m., University Police sent out a series of tweets about the armed robbery at the Bojangles.

One of the suspects was wearing a red mask, green shirt and blue jeans, and the other was wearing an orange mask, olive sweater and blue jeans, the tweets said.

One of the suspects was armed with an AK-47 and they were last seen on the 3100 block of Archer Road at about 11:32 p.m., the tweets said.
