A 23-year-old man died from serious injuries after a crash at the intersection of Clark Butler Boulevard and Plaza Boulevard Thursday afternoon.

Abner Miguel Rubio Estrada, of Gainesville, died in the emergency room at UF Health Shands, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.

Witnesses told police that northbound traffic was stopped at a red light at Plaza Boulevard, Gainesville Police spokesperson Ofc. Ben Tobias wrote in an email. Rubio Estrada, who was on a motorcycle, rode up the lane in between the stopped vehicles and drove into the intersection while a red truck was making a left turn on Plaza Boulevard.
