I’ll be honest. I tend to over-romanticize the fall season. But with the reemergence of cable knit sweaters, boots, hot tea and pumpkin-flavored everything, who wouldn’t? Fall has its very own mood, and even though it isn’t what I would call “cold” just yet, I can’t help but want to give everything in my life an autumn overhaul – starting with my iTunes.
If you’ve never been to The Atlantic, I’ll give you a quick rundown: it’s a laid-back, intimate little hole-in-the-wall bar with great beer – I recommend the Left Hand Milk Stout Nitro – and fun, quirky décor. An owl lamp and a ceramic cat behind the bar? Yes, please.
I walk down the street (Sorority Row, to be exact), enjoying the first Friday night I’ve had off in who knows how long. We’re heading back to my friend’s car after having a quiet girl’s night in with our social circle – both people I’ve met and people I haven’t. I turned on the radio today and Lana del Rey was singing about Summertime Sadness, but personally, I’m starting to feel pretty down now that it’s fall. It’s hard to manage, and it’s even harder to look good while doing it.
You've seen them: someone with a hoop in their nose, a name written down their arm, a stud through their lip. I think it’s pretty safe to say that in today’s day and age (especially in a college town like Gainesville) we all know at least one person with a piercing or a tattoo.
