Former Gator slugger Matt LaPorta should probably start packing his bags because, according to MLB.com Cleveland Indians reporter Anthony Castrovince, a MLB source said that a trade has been completed between the Indians and Milwaukee Brewers that would send pitcher C.C. Sabathia to the Brewers for a package including LaPorta.

After just one season of high-school ball, Austin Rivers has committed to come to the Gators, according to multiple outlets. Rivers, brother of UF volleyball player Callie Rivers and son of Boston Celtics' coach Doc Rivers, is considered the top guard in the 2001 class.

Offensive lineman Jonotthan Harrison has committed to the Gators, according to GatorCountry.com. Harrison is a four-star guard, according to Scout. com, and is the second offensive lineman to commit to UF recently. Naples High's Nick Alajajian also committed to the Gators less than a week ago. Harrison, a rising senior for Minneola's South Lake High, will join UF in 2009.

Tim Tebow was announced as the SEC Male Athlete of the Year on Wednesday. Former swimmer and Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte also won the award in 2005. Danny Wuerffel was the only other Gator in UF history that has won it in 1996 and '97.

Naples high offensive lineman Nick Alajajian has agreed to sign with the Gators, according to several reports. Scout.com lists the 6-4, 280-pound guard as the No. 1 prospect at his position. Rivals.com has him as the No. 3 guard.
