The Shell sign is scattered across the ground Friday after strong winds blew it down during a storm at the Shell gas station, 3330 SW Archer Road. Daphne Roberson, an employee at the station, said she saw the sign go down around 11 a.m. “It just all of a sudden happened,” she said. “I looked up and it was flying across the air.”

Cora collected four eggs, but Hunter said she was more interested in having fun at the park. The annual event was hosted by the Humane Society of North Central Florida. Hundreds of eggs were scattered around the park and the top three winners received trophies.

Hasan Minhaj, a 33-year-old comedian known for his time as a correspondent on “The Daily Show” and his Netflix show “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj,” answers questions Thursday at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Around 1,750 attendees watched Minhaj answer questions asked by UF School of Journalism and Communications professor Mike Foley.

Angel Gatev, a 21-year-old mechanical engineering junior, belays Hope Miller, a 20-year-old forest resources and conservation sophomore, Sunday at the rock wall at Lake Wauburg South Shore, 312 Whitehurst Road, Micanopy, Florida. This was the first time that Miller had been climbing.

Kenneth Sassaman, an 86-year-old Korean War veteran and Gainesville resident, listens to a speaker Saturday at the Vietnam Veterans Tribute event at Veterans Memorial Park, 7400 SW 41st Place. Sassaman served in the U.S. Army in the 25th division and 27th regiment, which was known as the “Wolfhounds.” “When these Vietnam veterans came home, they were treated like dirt,” he said. “Their recognition for them is fantastic. They deserve it. More than deserve it.”

Motocross racers get ready at the starting line Sunday for the first race of the day at Waldo Motorsports, 16258 NE US Highway 301 in Waldo, Florida. The event was part of the 2019 Race Tech National Post Vintage MX Series hosted by the American Historic Racing Motorcycle Association. Racers rode vintage and post-vintage bikes from before and after the 1970s respectively.
