IRS:The Misunderstood Nerds

As I was unfortunately driving on my scooter in a near hurricane, I saw a bumper sticker that read “If 10% is enough for god, it’s enough for the IRS”. While I admire his passion to limit the distinction between church and state, however I did have a problem with his overall logic. Contrary to popular opinion, the IRS is not to blame for how much money you pay in taxes every year.

How to adult

“Adulting,” or more appropriate terms, paying bills and attending college is frightening. As soon as we graduate high school, we are then expected to just know how to “adult.” Unfortunately, that is not always the case.

UF theatre graduate student Jacob Lesh, 24, poses as Antipholus of Syracuse, and UF acting graduate student Christie Robinson, 31, as Adriana.

Inside the Magic: Tragedy Tomorrow, Comedy Tonight

We know all the classic lines: “All the world’s a stage.”, “To be or not to be”, and  “Love is blind”. Shakespeare has become a trembled trepidation to each scholar who has ever outlived an English class. Cutout: Complete

DIY Cutout Canvas

As I was thinking about this week’s project, I noticed an empty spot on my wall that needed filling, so I decided to look for DIY wall décor and found the coolest thing. This project is a little more tedious than the previous ones, but it’s worth it.

Spring Recital

Orange and Blue Showcase: Graduate and Junior Voice Recitals

Its spring, a season of blooming flowers and beautiful weather. For the University of Florida’s school of music, it is also recital season. Last week and this week, in the University’s music building or MUB, there were several junior and graduate voice recitals featuring classical Italian, German, French, and English repertoire. The four I attended were soprano, Hannah Hough’s graduate recital, and tenor, John Payne, and soprano, Erica Scaglione, and baritone, Timothy Williams’s junior recitals.

Spotlight: Mass Appeal Records

With independent music becoming more and more prominent, veterans of the business have been taking notice. In May of 2014, legendary rapper Nas launched Mass Appeal Records as a label for up-and-coming emcees to make a name for themselves. The label has signed Bishop Nehru, Fashawn, Run the Jewels and Boldy James. Mass Appeal Records will also release new material from Nas himself and deceased rapper Pimp C.

Spotlight: Jeni Suk

There is an infinite amount of singers who do song covers on YouTube. Some of these artists become so popular that they begin to make their own original content in an attempt to make the transition from YouTube sensation to fulltime music artist. Music acts such as Timeflies, Tinashe, and Justin Bieber have shown the success of this formula. Today’s Spotlight artist Jeni Suk is currently making this transition and producing some phenomenal music in the process.
