Tim Tebow would never admit to it, but he sent a message to Geno Hayes and the Seminoles on the Gators' first drive. After Hayes got in Tebow's face, the sophomore sensation then proceeded to run for a first down on 3rd and 15. After that Tebow avoided two 'Noles Defenders and ran it in for a touchdown from 22-yards out. The Gators lead 7-3.
In one of their poorest efforts in years, it seems like all of the Gators inadequacies were on display Friday night against Florida State in the 65-51 loss.
UF fell just shy of upsetting No. 20 Florida State, losing a heartbreak 81-78 Friday night.
Cornerback Joe Haden, who was questionable with a right ankle sprain, is on the field and warming up. It was going to be a game-time decision whether the freshman, UF's top corner, would start. More on this as the lineups are announced.
For a group of seniors who experienced everything from mediocrity to a coaching change to a national title, Saturday was a flawless ending.
Although Gary Cismesia kicked a miraculous 60-yard field goal as time expired, the Seminoles haven't been able to do much more than that as the Gators lead 24-12 at the half. Tim Tebow has thrown two touchdowns to Louis Murphy and Tebow has also ran for one, helping further his Hesiman campaign.
With freshman cornerback Joe Haden (high right ankle sprain) out of the lineup this week, Jacques Rickerson knew he had a second chance to impress UF's coaching staff.
If Tim Tebow wins the Heisman Trophy, he will have plenty of hands to shake and people to thank.
UF fell just shy of upsetting No. 20 Florida State and the Gators will be left wondering what could have been after a 81-78 loss Friday night.

Ah, Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for the holiday you can't screw up. There's no need to fret about finding the perfect gift for your mom or someone hot to kiss at midnight. It's socially acceptable to eat so much pie that you can't get up from the table. Here's what I'm thankful this year:
In Monday's "Fashion" Alligator Rants, "frat guys who wear Guy Harvey shirts" were chastised for wearing the artists's apparel simply because "Gainesville doesn't have any good places to fish for swordfish." As a longtime supporter of Mr. Harvey's artwork and marine preservation efforts, I'm a little baffled.
The Southeastern Conference office announced its end-of-season volleyball awards Tuesday afternoon, and, just like the conference standings, the Gators came out on top.
With one day before break, we have a lot to be thankful for. But with Monday's speech, one thing that is fairly low-key tops my list.
When UF throttled Florida State 34-7 two years ago in the Swamp, UF coach Urban Meyer walked around the locker room with his hands in his pockets.
With temptations of pumpkin pie, gingerbread, turkey with gravy and more, it's easy to make bad decisions when eating during the holidays.
With 26 student deaths since January, including several caused by traffic accidents, law enforcement officials are advising students to be careful on the roads this weekend.
Christmas music is already playing on the radio, red and green decorations are infiltrating stores in the Oaks Mall and white, plastic reindeer are grazing on the lawn of the V.A. Medical Center on Archer Road.
