Florida is back in South Carolina this weekend for the second week in a row.

The Gators are competing in the Gamecock Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina, on Friday and Saturday. This comes a week after attending the Orange and Purple Elite meet in Clemson, South Carolina. The Gamecocks competed in that meet along with the Gators. That meet opened the indoor season for UF, but South Carolina had previously competed in the Clemson Invitational back in December.

Action for UF begins Friday at 10 a.m. with the men’s long jump and concludes Saturday at 4:30 p.m. with the women’s 4x400 relay. Senior Raymond Ekevwo’s indoor season will start Friday at 4:30 p.m. in the 60 meters. He only ran the 60 meters once all last season and set a personal record of 6.66 seconds in the SEC Indoor Championships. Tyler Davis, Joseph Fahnbulleh, Cameron Miller and Clayton Brown all join Ekevwo in the 60 meters.

Brown is also competing in the men’s high jump after his impressive showing last week in the triple jump.

Last week, the sprinters and jumpers carried Florida, and this week will be more of the same as there are only 12 athletes competing in races longer than 400 meters. Doneisha Anderson and Taylor Manson are both running in the women’s 400 meters after competing in the 300 meters last week.

In all, 46 athletes are competing this weekend in the invitational for Florida in a field that includes several other programs from the Southeast region including Charleston Southern and Bethune Cookman.
