Live bluegrass music, sizzling barbecue and natural springs await county residents this weekend at the second annual Springs Celebration in High Springs.
The event, held at Poe Springs County Park at 28800 NW 182nd Ave., will be Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Besides music, food and swimming, the celebration will include informational booths about water conservation and threats to the Florida ecosystem, said Fay Baird, who is helping coordinate the day's activities.
Park employees will provide kayaks for people interested in exploring the streams surrounding the main spring, Baird said.
Visitors also can watch a baby alligator exhibition put on by employees. Baird said about 800 people attended last year's celebration, and she is expecting more this weekend.
