Santa Fe College reported four positive cases from students from Oct. 26 to Nov. 1. No employees reported testing positive.
The total number of reported cases on campus dropped by 20% when compared to last week’s five cases.
There have been 393 reported positive cases since the Delta surge in March 2021, which represents about 36% of all 1,089 cases since the start of the pandemic, according to a report provided by SF director of human resources Lela Frye.
Last week, the college opened 38 student case investigations and seven employee case investigations.
One student was on campus while positive, and no employees were on campus while positive for COVID-19, according to Frye’s report. There have been no additional reported on-campus exposures or community spread from students or employees.
The college requests all students, faculty and staff perform a daily self-assessment checklist before going to campus. Masks are not required on campus, but the college strongly encourages anyone visiting Santa Fe property to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status.
The college also requires students who test positive for COVID-19, experience any symptoms, or believe they have come in close contact with someone who has COVID-19 to fill out a confidential online form, disclosing any potential exposure or positive test results.
Santa Fe strongly encourages anyone who can get the COVID-19 vaccine to do so.
As part of the college’s vaccine incentive program, all employees, including full-time and part-time, along with all current students can receive a one-time $60 incentive. The incentive is for those who have received either both shots of the Pfizer, both shots of the Moderna vaccine or one shot of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine by Oct. 31.
Students can still report their vaccination status until Nov. 5, using a Zoom room or visiting designated in-person locations, including the lobby in Student Life, Blount Center, the Davis Center, the Perry Center, the Watson Center in Keystone Heights and the Andrews Center in Starke.
