The species is listed as endangered under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, but the act’s conservation efforts have not been enough to protect the species from its major threats, mainly due to legislation aiming to weaken the act.

Continuing its recent streak of dominance, Florida men’s tennis (11-7, 6-3 SEC) headed northeast to take on Vanderbilt (8-11, 1-8 SEC). The Gators ended up sweeping the Commodores 4-0 for their third-straight conference win by three or more points.

When Trevor Wayne first picked up his worn-out copy of S.E. Hinton’s novel “The Outsiders” in seventh grade and began to read the opening lines, it became more than just an assignment. Even though he was sitting in an English classroom in Boca Raton, Florida, he saw himself in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He saw himself in the characters who came to life before him, both Greasers and Socs alike.

It was a narrative that the Florida Gators became all too familiar with when they found out they’d be squaring off against the reigning back-to-back national champion UConn Huskies. The last time Florida was on the top-seed line in March Madness, it was the Huskies who stunned UF off the court in the 2014 Final Four.

Florida women’s swim and dive touched down in Federal Way, Washington, to compete in the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championship. The annual meet represented the height of a season’s worth of preparation for a chance to claim the title of best collegiate program in the nation. After months of intense training, countless hours in the pool and the pressure of concluding a long season, 14 Gators came together to battle for top spots on the leaderboard.

The Huskies have more experience in the snow than the Gators. Since head coach Dan Hurley arrived in Storrs, Connecticut, his squad has watched the spattered sky six times as the confetti fell. It occurred twice before the NCAA Tournament, twice in the Elite Eight and, most importantly, twice at the national championship.
