We’re not perfect here at alligatorSports. This summer, we’ve been going over some of the best athletes and teams. But now, we’re going to take a look at some of those programs or people that we left out or missed.
Several records were broken and milestones were achieved during the UF 2017-18 athletic season. We saw Caeleb Dressel torch several records, Chris Chiozza dazzle us with passes, Grant Holloway have himself a year, Jim McElwain slumping and Mary Wise showing why she belongs in volleyball. Our roundtable of Chris O’Brien, Evan Lepak, Andrew Huang, Brendan Farrell and Mark Stine debate about which event was the record or milestone of the year.
Carmelo Anthony has finalized his buyout with the Atlanta Hawks, making him a free agent again. His intentions now are to sign with the Houston Rockets.
Kevin Love has LeBron James to thank for the three most impactful moments in his career. First, James returned to Cleveland in 2014, offering the All-Star forward an escape route from a woefully uncompetitive Minnesota Timberwolves team. There are many incoming freshmen and transfers joining UF Athletics for the 2018-19 season. With the first sporting event of the 2018 fall sports season under one month away (soccer exhibition match at Florida Gulf Coast on Aug. 7), it’s time to get acquainted with some of the new faces of the Florida Gators. Sports writers Chris O’Brien, Andrew Huang and Mark Stine highlight newcomers to watch for the upcoming football, volleyball and soccer campaigns.
As the Florida Gators athletics season winds down, we look back at some of the best athletes for the university. Our panel of Mark Stine, Chris O’Brien, Dylan Rudolph, Alanis Thames and Andrew Huang selected its nominees for the alligatorSports Athlete of the Year award:
It seems like Oct. 17 was just yesterday.
The busy world of UF athletics begins to wind down as summer starts to heat up, but there’s still plenty to follow as several teams are in the thick of their respective postseasons.
Check out ESPN’s website when you have a moment. I want to show you something.
Good on you, George Hill.
Victor Oladipo — a rising star in the NBA — is really, really good. But Oladipo and the Indiana Pacers aren’t getting out of the first round of this year’s NBA Playoffs.
The Florida football team lost four balls in the process, but 53,015 fans got the show they wanted at Saturday’s annual Orange and Blue game: quality play from UF’s quarterbacks, renewed levels of energy and excitement and, of course, points on the scoreboard.
The following is a list of key bullet points from the UF men’s basketball team’s 2017-18 resume:
