Sensei Tom Huffman, a fourth-degree black belt in Iwama and Nishio styles of aikido, practices iaido at the Unified Training Center on Thursday. Iaido is the art of drawing and manipulating the Japanese sword. Adult classes are held Mondays and Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. Free classes are held each Thursday at 7:30 p.m.

She said she chose the plant because it was bred at UF, and it’s economical. Chaparro, the plant’s breeder, said the tree will take about two years to mature.

A Cottage Gardeners Inc. prepares to put a plant down a 13th St. median, on Monday, Oct, 1, 2012. Cottage Gardenrs Inc. has partnered with the City of Gainesville for a three-fold landscaping project on 13th Str. On the medians spannnig from Norman Hall to the double-helix bridge, creative landscaping will be done. The project's goal is to mirror the double-helixed bridge, but with plants said CGI owner John George.
