When the Gainesville City Commission nominees held forums and debates to discuss their stance on local issues they overlooked one very important topic: the lack of locations to purchase Girl Scout cookies. This window for chocolate-coated shortbreads and peanut butter-filled sandwich cookies is rapidly closing, and Gainesville never even got its chance to breathe in the sugar-scented air.

Can you hear it? It's the soft, subtle hum of holiday music echoing through department stores, grocery establishments and stereo systems in general. It is officially December, but we've already been "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" since the first stampede of Black Friday. Seasonal jams make me want to shake my "Jingle Bells" all day and night. Creamy or chunky? You might need to put a bit more thought into your sandwich-spread alliance this season. Peanut butter prices are on the rise due to crop shortages that left farmers paying almost double for their peanuts.

The unexciting area of south Main Street mainly features run-down industrial buildings and grassy patches of bare land. However, nestled on the corner of Southwest Main Street and Sixth Avenue is a large hanger-like structure that hosts a hidden gem. The steel-paneled building blends so effortlessly into the scenery that the uninformed restaurant diner might miss the swanky establishment altogether. The Warehouse Restaurant & Lounge conceals a sophisticated array of cuisine that effectively entices those with keens eyes and empty stomachs.
