The newest version of the 2008 UF basketball schedule includes Syracuse on Nov. 24 and either Kansas or Washington on Nov. 25 as part of the O'Reilly Auto Parts CBE Classic. Florida and Kansas would both have to either win or lose their previous games to meet. UF lost to Kansas 82-80 in overtime during the 2006 Las Vegas Invitational.

Despite losing its first match of the season to No. 21 Colorado State Saturday, the No. 8 UF volleyball team is staying positive. The Gators are back in Gainesville after a road trip the ended with mixed results. After beating Colorado in Boulder 3-1 (25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18), UF fell to CSU 3-0 (26-24, 25-16, 25-14)

UF, fresh off of its 3-1(25-22, 25-20, 22-25, 25-18) win over Colorado Thursday night, will now make the trip to Fort Collins, Colo. where they will take on No.21 Colorado State Saturday. The Rams come into the game riding a 17 match home winning streak. They were undefeated at home last season. The Rams are led by senior middle blocker Makena Barnes, who is averaging 13.4 kills for her last five matches.

According to the Miami Herald former UF safety Jamar Hornsby has enrolled at East Mississippi Community College where he will play football this season. He will be eligible to transfer to another FBS school next year. Hornsby was kicked off the team earlier this summer after it was discovered that he made nearly $3,000 worth of charges to the credit card of deceased UF student Ashley Slonina. Hornsby was originally arrested on a felony charge. According to Alachua County court records, the charges were reduced Wednesday to four misdemeanor counts of unauthorized use of a credit card.

Cross country coach Jeff Pigg has left UF to take the same position at Southeastern Conference rival Georgia, the Bulldogs announced Monday. Pigg took over the UF cross country program in 2002 and led both the men's and women's teams to their first NCAA championship appearence in 2006. UF is expected to name Ole Miss associate men's track coach Brian O'Neal as Pigg's replacement.
