A memorial for a Gainesville police officer on the 34th Street Wall has been covered with the now-infamous words "DONT TASE ME BRO."
Lt. Corey Dahlem died after being hit by a drunken driver in the spring.
After UF student Andrew Meyer was Tasered by a University Police Department officer Monday, Dahlem's memorial was tagged in bold red lettering Wednesday with words Meyer shouted.
"EVERY COP INVOLVED SHOULD ROT IN PRISON" also takes up about six sections of the wall.
UF engineering student Phillip Sutton paused as he passed by the wall.
"This is not necessary," Sutton said.
Political science junior Ben Dictor, who has participated in campus protests against Meyer's Tasering, said, "The man lost his life protecting ours, and he deserves to be remembered that way."
Kharyssa Rhodes, program director of Keep Alachua County Beautiful, helps with wall maintenance.
She said the organization would try to fix the memorial in the next 24 hours.
Additionally, she said, she plans to take care of larger graffiti Saturday morning with volunteers.
