Florida infielder/outfielder Bobby Boser (6) makes contact as the Florida Gators face the Dayton Flyers on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2025, at Condron Family Ballpark in Gainesville, Fla.

The Athletics have selected Florida shortstop Bobby Boser with the No. 320 pick in the eleventh round of the 2025 MLB Draft.

Boser is the fourth Gator to be drafted in the 2025 MLB Draft, and the 114th draftee under Kevin O’Sullivan’s tenure. With the selection, Florida has now produced at least four MLB draft picks in 16 of the last 17 years.

Boser is the second Gator shortstop drafted this year following the Chicago White Sox’s selection of Colby Shelton in the sixth round.

A senior from Wesley Chapel, Florida, Boser spent only one season with the Gators. In 2025, he was the only Florida player to start all 61 games. He posted a .336 batting average with 80 hits, 18 home runs and 67 RBI. In addition, he delivered a .955 fielding percentage while playing shortstop, second base and third base. He earned a spot on the All-SEC Defensive Team and the NCAA Conway Regional All-Tournament team.

Prior to Florida, Boser spent the first three years of his collegiate career at the University of South Florida. He had a more than impressive career with the Bulls, making 106 total starts with the team. He was named All-AAC First Team in 2023 and 2024, and ended his Bulls career No. 8 all-time in home runs in program history with 31.

Boser joins an Athletics team that stands last in the American League West Division at 41-57. The Athletics have the No. 21 farm system according to the MLB farm rankings
