Student falls from parking garage, injures face

A UF student plummeted three stories from a parking garage on campus early Wednesday morning.

Everett Millman, a 20-year-old sophomore, was taken to a local hospital following his fall from the parking garage located south of Hume Hall on Gale Lemerand Drive.

Millman, from Land O' Lakes, Fla., is a resident of the honors residential college at Hume Hall.

The incident happened at around 4 a.m. Wednesday, said UF spokesman Steve Orlando.

After Millman fell, the student who was with him told University Police that they were smoking marijuana on top of the garage, Orlando said.

Millman had serious injuries to his face and was still in the hospital Wednesday night, Orlando said.

The issue of drug use on campus is not being investigated at this time, and UF's main concern is Millman's injuries, Orlando said.
