Thank you to our fiscal year 2024-25 contributors

At this time near the end of the calendar year, we want to take a moment to thank our donors who supported us during our 2024-25 fiscal year.

The Independent Florida Alligator has been independent from the University of Florida since 1973. That responsibility gives our student journalists the freedom to report on the university without censorship, holding its leaders accountable when needed.

But independence also comes with financial challenges. We rely on advertising, grants, and donations to support our mission to report on the UF and north central Florida communities with balance and depth.

Every gift makes a difference, no matter the amount. These donors help us pay our editors, reporters, photographers and designers. They help us purchase multimedia equipment, and they pay for travel expenses, from Florida Board of Governors meetings around the state to football and basketball games across the country.

Student newsrooms are a training ground for up and coming journalists. By donating, you’re investing in the future of our paper and our media landscape. Thank you!
