UF Student Senate President Ben Meyers’ committee to curb free enterprise shows just how far today’s young leaders have gone in rejecting the American free-market system.
The founding fathers established this great country on a system of free enterprise, and for over a century, this system produced dynamic economic growth. Today’s leaders, even supposed conservatives like Meyers, are socialists to the core.
Rather than taking personal responsibility for their debauchery, they would rather attack hardworking cab drivers and the entrepreneurs who own cab companies.
Meyers’ embrace of “fairness in commerce” will lead to the same big government takeovers and regulation we’ve seen come from Washington.
I ask Mr. Meyers to abandon his socialist principles and embrace the free-market system that built American commerce.
