A fight early Wednesday morning left one man in Shands with life-threatening injuries.
Pearlie M. Alexander, 36, was charged with beating 62-year-old Jeffrey Gore.
A neighbor called the Gainesville Police Department after hearing the men fight.
Police responded to the house, 916 NE 19th Street, at about 1:15 a.m. and found Gore severely beaten, said Sgt. Joe Raulerson.
Gore is being treated at Shands for life-threatening injuries.
Alexander was charged with aggravated battery.
If necessary, the charges could become more severe after a decision from GPD and the state attorney’s office, Raulerson said.
“It was a vicious attack,” he said.
