A Gainesville woman was arrested after she was accused of trying to kill her husband in front of their children.

Kacy Wooten, 32, of Southwest 28th Terrace, was charged Friday night with attempted murder when she stabbed her husband with a knife, according to a GPD arrest report.

Wooten and her husband, Abraham Wooten, 34, were arguing about finances and family matters. When she wanted to leave, Kacy Wooten asked for the keys to the car, but Abraham Wooten refused to give them to her.

Abraham Wooten then took their three children out of the apartment.

Kacy Wooten followed them outside, wielding three knives.

She told the children she was going to kill their father and said she only needed one knife to do it.

Wooten then stabbed her husband in the leg and ran from the apartment, according to the report.

Police arrived shortly after.

They found the knife and Kacy Wooten near the scene.

Kacy Wooten told officers she argued with her husband because she feared her children would be used for manual labor if they visited her in-laws in Marion County, according to the report.

Kacy Wooten is currently in jail with a bond set at $50,000.
