Senior attacker Lindsey Ronbeck scored six goals against Brown on Tuesday.

Senior attacker Lindsey Ronbeck came into her 70th career game with 198 goals for Florida’s women’s lacrosse team.

Her 200th goal came with 16 seconds remaining in the first half and gave the Gators a 6-5 lead heading into the break.

The AAC Preseason Attacker of the Year became just the third player in program history to reach the 200-goal mark.

The senior’s historic afternoon helped No. 18 Florida to a 15-8 victory over Temple on Saturday in Philadelphia giving the Gators their first win in the American Athletic Conference.

The Owls (3-8, 0-1 AAC) scored less than two minutes into the game when midfielder Jen Rodzewich caught senior goalkeeper Haley Hicklen outside of her net.

Sophomore midfielder Shannon Kavanagh converted on a free-position attempt at the 24:05 mark of the first half to tie the game for UF (6-6, 1-0 AAC).

Temple responded with a 3-0 run behind another goal from Rodzewich, one from midfielder Amber Lambeth and the last one from attacker Maddie Gebert.

Florida answered back with a 3-0 run of its own thanks to Ronbeck’s 199th career goal, a free-position shot from sophomore attacker Grace Haus and Kavanagh’s second goal of the day.

Haus paced the Gators on offense with four goals followed by hat tricks from both Kavanagh and Ronbeck.

Midfielder/attacker Olivia Thompson scored a goal with nearly six minutes left in the half to give the Owls a 5-4 lead, but two straight goals from the Gators saw them take a 6-5 lead heading into the break.

Temple midfielder Bridget Whitaker found the back of the net early in the second half to tie the game at 6-6, but UF took control from that point forward.

Florida went on a 9-0 run in nearly 20 minutes to seal its first conference win of the season.

O’Leary credited her team’s second-half onslaught to Kavanagh and the other draw takers.

“Our performance in the draw circle in the second half really sparked the team,” O’Leary said. “I’m proud of the resilience we showed today.”
