Junior defensive lineman Cam Jackson warms up before the Gators' 52-35 loss to the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023.

Florida junior defensive tackle Cam’Ron Jackson will return to UF for his senior season, he announced on social media Wednesday.

“Gator Nation Did Y’all really Think I was leaving,” Jackson said on Twitter. “Let’s run It Back my Last Year,” Jackson said.

Jackson played in 11 of the Gators’ 12 games in his lone season for UF. He led all interior linemen with 32 total tackles. He also half a tackle for loss and two pass breakups.

The Haynesville, Louisiana, native transferred to Florida after spending three seasons with the Memphis Tigers. He notched 51 total tackles and five tackles for loss with Memphis. Jackson earned All-Conference honors from Pro Football Focus in 2022.

Jackson’s return bolsters a Gators defensive line that struggled at times this season. Florida moved on from defensive line coach Sean Spencer as one of the first moves of the offseason.

No defensive linemen have officially left the program as of Nov. 29, though freshman Will Norman — a former four-star recruit — is reported to potentially be entering the transfer portal.
