UF students received a public safety email Wednesday morning describing an alleged sexual assault on campus. The incident reportedly happened Friday night in a dorm.
The female who reported the incident went to UF Health Shands Emergency Room early Wednesday morning and reported a sexual battery, according to the email.
University police responded to the report around 2:30 a.m.
The victim told university police her boyfriend physically took advantage of her without her consent.
The boyfriend is not a UF student or faculty member, according to the email.
The Clery Act requires UF to give notice to students when crimes like assault, murder and robbery pose an ongoing threat to the campus community.
The incident is currently under investigation.
