


Guests at First Magnitude Brewing Company celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday afternoon with a series of sponsored activities. About 70 people attended the special edition of the weekly yoga class. There was also a painting station, sponsored by Painting with a Twist, where children could create mini-canvas paintings for their mothers and other family members. Later, there was a session with a painting class for moms. The event also had live music from the band Patchwork Girls.
UF’s Lettuce Club holds its first eating competition
Mar. 10A crowd of around 40 people gathered by a bench to watch 20 members of UF’s Lettuce Club compete in a lettuce eating competition Feb. 19. Many watched with their own pieces of lettuce in hand, and some even gripped personal bottles of dressing to complement the leafy greens.

Gainesville residents walk out of school and work for a ‘Stand with Minnesota’ ICE protest
Jan. 30About 300 people gathered on 13th Street and University Avenue at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon, walking out of work and school as part of a nationally organized day of action to protest U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
