MARIANNA, Fla. - A Florida Panhandle man has been sentenced to three consecutive life terms plus an additional 70 years for a fatal robbery.

As part of a deal with Jackson County prosecutors, John Wayne Lincoln pleaded guilty Thursday to first-degree murder, robbery with a deadly weapon and burglary with a deadly weapon. In exchange, prosecutors agreed not to pursue the death penalty.

Authorities say Lincoln fatally stabbed 62-year-old Vivian Ford while robbing her Greenwood home last November.

The Panama City News Herald reports that Lincoln was also facing several charges related to other robberies, but those cases were resolved in the plea deal.
