UF redshirt freshman running back Chevon Walker has been granted a release from his scholarship and allowed to talk to other schools about transferring, UF sports information director Steve McClain confirmed Tuesday.
Manson started his career at running back - he was the No. 15 back in the nation in high school, according to Scout.com. He played in 12 games as a redshirt freshman, and started twice. He finished the year with 365 yards on 81 carries.
Sophomore point guard Brittaney Thomas' coming-out game against Xavier Friday did not go overlooked by the Southeastern Conference. Thomas was named SEC Player of the Week Monday after she scored 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting in her first career start.
Freshman forward Ndidi Madu is done for the season. Madu blew out her right ACL Sunday night in practice, and an MRI Monday morning confirmed the team's fears. Madu's game had seen a lot of improvement lately and she looked to give the Gators some depth down in the post. This marks the third UF player that will be out of lineup due to injury.
