What used to be cool as a freshman

There are a lot of routine activities that have changed from the time I was a freshman. What seemed like the cool thing to do then is definitely not always what is considered the “in” thing to do now.

There’s No Place like Home

Before coming to UF, my mom and I agreed that I would come home to visit about once a month. When we made that arrangement, once a month seemed like a lot of going home to me.


The Democratic National Committee bus sits outside of Turlington Hall on Sunday. Special guests including former Michigan governor Jennifer Granholm and model Chanel Iman spoke to students about voting. “I’m here to urge Florida to vote,” Granholm said, “because the whole country is watching and everything you are doing is so significant to the rest of us.”

Boca Raton hosts final debate

President Barack Obama and Gov. Mitt Romney will face off for the third and final presidential debate at 9 p.m. tonight. The event will take place about 300 miles away, but the impact will resonate everywhere — especially on the Internet.

Festival supports horse therapy

About 100 people attended a fundraiser for HOPE — HOrses Helping PEople — Sunday afternoon at the organization’s farm in Archer. The organization provides therapy for people with special needs through interaction with horses.
